Flying with 6 Essentials

Flying with 6 Essentials

I realized something during my recent trip to Boston; I do a lot of preparation before I hit my destination, but I never prepare for the plane ride. The plane ride can be brutal, but this can be avoided. These are 7 essentials every women needs in their  handbag (carry-on)  that will make your plane ride a smooth one.

Before I jump in with the 6 essentials, it is important to have a checklist. When creating a checklist, ask yourself, “What do I use every day?” This way you can eliminate things you don’t really need and narrow down the stuff you have in your purse.

1. Snacks!

I like to stay frugal, but airplanes do a great job at tempting me to purchase snacks.  Avoid the temptation and make a run to Trader Joes the night before to grab some healthy snacks.

2. A Blanket and Pillow

A lot of airlines do not provide these for free. It is difficult to stay comfortable, especially when you are on a cold flight. If you remember only one thing from this list, make sure it is a blanket!pillow1

3. Mouthwash

Have you ever woken up after napping during a flight and realized you have a slight case of morning breath? Sometimes morning breath becomes a problem and ruins your confidence! This makes it awkward when talking to your neighbor, but there is a quick fix. All you have to do is rinse your mouth in the airplane’s bathroom with travel size mouthwash.

4. Travel Sized Containers

If I have a layover I like to brush up in the bathroom, but these are also great for after the plane ride. I use the travel sized containers to hold my liquid hair products, face cleanser, and lotion. They’re also great because you avoid having to buy travel sized products each time you take a trip! Just buy these reusable containers and fill them up with products you already have at home.

5. A Notebook

I tend to have a lot of free time to reflect while flying. By having a notebook, I can write down my thoughts. Writing seriously kills time. Also, if you’re not much of a writer, you can use it to doodle or make lists of things you need to remember when you’ve arrived at your destinationtravel

6. Travel Size Basic Makeup Bag

Don’t bring all your makeup in a purse! Just your essentials- a small travel makeup bag helps me minimize the makeup I bring.
